My fiancé and I were quoted $14,000 to replace our HVAC system by a company that seems to have tried to deceive us about the condition of our unit. We called HGH to inspect the unit as a second opinion. Mark Wood paid us a visit to inspect the HVAC unit and offer his opinion. He actually took the time to thoroughly examine it, show me the inside, and explain exactly why the unit was working totally fine and certainly did not need to be replaced. He suggested some more minor maintenance ideas to keep things in working shape. I appreciate his honesty, because he was in a position where he could have told us a slightly cheaper price and we may have still paid for something we don't need. I had to replace a heat pump in a rental unit. It required an AC unit on a third floor roof and a heat unit in the apartment. HGH gave the best proposal - I had three bids. They used the most up to date refrigerant at a better price than the other offers. HGH sent a someone to price the job on the first day that I called. I had a proposal within 2 days. When I chose HGH, the owners came to do the measurements and make sure what would be needed for a successful installation. One the day of the installation, two 2 man crews were prompt and professional. They removed the old units and had the new ones working within 4 hours. A job well done! Great experience with HGH Mechanical. My Heatpump/AC stopped working with the first hot day. The service tech showed up (Chris) on time and explained the issue clearly and professionally. I scheduled an appointment with their installation salesman (Dan). He showed up on time and this was on a Saturday. He was very clear and professional and gave me a very competitive quote. I ended up using HGH to install my new system and their installation team show up on time and had the job done quickly. I am very happy with the all around job they did, they were timely, communicated well, professional, and competitive. HGH team installed gas lines inside my home to be used for converting my 2 wood burning fireplaces to gas. There were many steps to coordinate with BGE contractors, county inspectors, Miss Utility, and hearth installers and HGH had to work around all the other contractors schedules, as well as their own. They were flexible and adapted to the ever changing schedules. While they could not promise no holes in my ceiling, they took extreme care and were successful in not having to punch holes in my ceilings to run the pipes. They did a neat, non- intrusive install, cleaned up, and kept me apprised of the project. When I had the need to call them, my calls were answered promptly. We were in the market for having central air installed in our home. Asked around and received quotes from various vendors. A neighbor recommended HGH. Only this company provided a visit from one of the owners with an uncomplicated contract and straightforward terms. Moreover, their estimate was less than competitors and never an attempt to “sell”…we were sold. A team of installers arrived on time at the designated start date and completed on time. Very personable group and appeared to be well-versed in the trades. Most significantly to me, an air of integrity, mutual-trust and respect pervaded the experience from time of estimate to equipment testing. We had a wonderful experience with HGH Mechanical this week. Our furnace went up right before the Christmas holiday and they were able to fit us in for an efficient one-day installation. From our first interaction with DJ, who diagnosed the issue -- to our meeting with Dan to discuss our options for installing a new unit -- to our pre-installation meeting with Manny, an owner -- we felt like we were in good hands every step of the way. Our day-of technicians, Nate and Colby, did an excellent job explaining the work they had done and gave us a comprehensive tutorial on our new system which included a new WiFi thermostat! We had to replace a heat pump in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. HGH was very professional, from reasonable advice over the phone to a competitive estimate based on pictures. Of several quotes, theirs was remarkable for making sure we got a system that would be energy-efficient at a good price. They steered us away from expensive features that we did not need. They came in advance to measure everything and make sure that they would have all the right sizes. Matt and Christian arrived at 8AM as they said they would. They were courteous, clean, very quiet, and they were careful to use facemasks whenever we interacted. The installation was clean and done on time. Matt gave a very clear orientation to the system and what we needed to do for maintenance, encouraging me to take a video for reference. Highly recommended! ~ John C

Our 50+ year old boiler was a leaky mess and no longer efficiently provided baseboard heat and domestic hot water. Dan came out to assess our needs and Jimmy, Phil and their team did an amazing job on the removal of our old boiler and the install of a new one along with a hot water heater. Seriously, the install looks like art. They arrived on time, were finished earlier than expected and were extremely pleasant to work with. The house is warm and we can finally take hot showers! We're definitely going to have them back in the spring to replace our air conditioning system. Our furnace went up after 34 years, so we searched companies, and found HGH Mechanical. We read the reviews and liked what we saw. From the time we called, everyone was so responsive and professional. We got quotes from other companies as well, and even before we got all the quotes, we noticed none showed the true caring about the customer that HGH did. We chose HGH to do our install, they had great pricing, but even more than that, we were kept up to date on what was going on. On the install day, we had 3 trucks show up, and in no time at all, the old unit was removed, and the new one in. The crew was professional and knowledgeable, they went over everything with us, and came out the next day to do a efficiency test, and gave us the green light for this season. When it's 100+ degrees outside and you find an HVAC company that can not only do your work in a timely manner but for a reasonable price, you've got a winner! I contacted HGH mechanical after getting another estimate for an internal coil, that I thought was out of line. One of the owners (Phil) at HGH came by within an hour as he was on a call close to my house and gave me an estimate that was well below the first one I received. That's all good but how was the work completed you might ask(?) The technicians Marcc and Eric (I think, he had a cast on) arrived on time, explained their work, how long it will take and delivered as promised. I would remiss if I didn't call out Dave D who is a technician with HGH who provided advice before handing me over to the owners for an estimate. Great experience from start to finish! I have a 7 month old and our AC was not working. The house was getting hot and there was concern about it being too hot for the baby. Additionally, my wife was getting mad that I didn't know how to fix the problem. Questions I had to answer around midnight: "Can't you just squirt some freon in it?" "Did you reboot it?" "Do you think a squirrel got in there and did something?" Anyway, HGH was there ASAP and fixed the unit. It was fast and affordable; I really couldn't ask for more. They didn't try to upsell me or upcharge me for requesting urgent service. ~ Dave L

HGH has been nothing short of fantastic to work with over 20+. years!!! They installed and have professionally maintained my multiple zone HVAC system / radiant floor heating since building my house in 2004. Hands on owners who are not afraid of working alongside their crews. I just replaced my downstairs AC unit and one of their Senior techs (Tom) was one of the ones who installed my original system. After unsatisfactory service from four other companies, and two months of inadequate heat in winter, HGH mechanical (Jim), came out and quickly identified what all the problems were and what the repair would require. The crew came the next day and actually replaced some of the duct pipes because one of them had a large rusted hole from a leaking pvc pipe that was going toward the furnace. How is it that no other HVAC company even saw this? I spent well over $2000 on unnecessary service before getting the job taken care of. Going forward, I will call HGH at the beginning. We were looking around at many different companies to have mini splits installed in our 100 year old farmhouse to heat and cool our house. We were recommended to HGH mechanical and they came out the next day after calling. They worked with us to lay out many different options for us and explained the pros and cons of each option. They were the best price around for installing 5 mini splits and they did very professional work. We recently had our upstairs unit stop working on us as the temperatures started to rise for the spring. Luckily, we used HGH about a year ago to install and update our HVAC unit for our basement and first floor, and more recently our hot water heater that went up. Nate and his crew were able to install the new unit in our attic without issue and great professionalism. Not only did they do a great job with the install, they moved the unit closer to the attic access place so it could be reached much easier in the event it needs to be maintained. Even though it was over a 100 in the attic, there was no complaining from the crew and they made sure everything was working great by the time they left. And when they left, you never would have known they were there since they had cleaned up everything. I never dealt with a company as reliable and totally on top of their game as HGH. I needed a new boiler. The salesman came out the same day. His was the lowest of my three estimates. They got me on their schedule in two days. Their team of installers were considerate of me in every way, polite, serious, efficient. The job was done by 3 pm. Cleanup was perfect. The telephone staff at the office heard me and arranged everything successfully. This is a company where the left hand DOES know what the right hand is doing. I had a very good experience using HGH Mechanical to install my new AC unit. I got 3 different quotes and HGH was the best priced and could schedule the installation the fastest! The process was seamless from the initial quote with Dan, paying the deposit, Manny coming out to do the measurements and the installation day. The installers arrived at my home around 7:45 am, 1 worked inside and the other guy worked on the outside unit. By 2:30 pm they were finished and I had air again!!!!! I've trusted HGH for years with my HVAC needs. I live in a 1920's rowhouse in B'more City that doesn't have central air. They installed three mini-splits maybe 10 years ago. I had called several companies at the time, but I chose HGH because Manny was able to explain the difference between the vastly different estimates I received. Over the years they've been responsive and professional when I've had a problem or needed a repair. I just wanted to thank Jim and HGH for the excellent job they did in replacing our old furnace and heat pump with a new gas furnace and AC unit. This was a tough install and Tom and Adam did a great job! Tom is very knowledgeable and does picture perfect work. Jim knew how particular I was because we had HGH install our gas fireplace about 4 years ago and they went over and above to make it the perfect install. HGH Mechanical installed a Daiken 17 Series HP Indoor/Outdoor unit in our Florida room. From the planning stage to the installation, HGH did an excellent job. The line had to run the length of the house and they planned it so no electrical wires would show. Also, they determined the right size of the unit so that it cools the room in less than five minutes. They arrived on time, were friendly and professional and completed the job in a few hours. Workers came out the next day and diagnosed my problem immediately. They were very upfront about what was needed. I, unfortunately, needed an entire new unit. The price I was quoted seemed very fair. They even told me it’s always best to shop around for more quotes on the job. I felt comfortable enough that I didn’t even bother. They ran me through everything that was wrong with my unit. The job took two days, they were quick and did not leave any messes. I hope I never have to use them again, but if I do, I know that job will get done quickly and correctly. ~ Jose G
